Overview

Our client needed an automated solution that allows customers to find the nearest restaurant using WhatsApp. The goal was to make restaurant discovery effortless by enabling customers to search by postal code and receive relevant results instantly. We developed an API that integrates with WhatsApp, helping customers find restaurants near their location and guiding them to make a reservation.

Challenges

Manual Search Process – Customers had no easy way to find restaurants near them
Proximity-Based Discovery – The system needed to prioritize restaurants within a set radius
Seamless Reservation Flow – Customers should be able to visit a web page for booking
WhatsApp Integration – The entire process had to work within WhatsApp for convenience

What we did

We implemented an API that connects with WhatsApp, allowing users to find restaurants by entering their postal code. If a restaurant exists in their area, they receive a direct link to the restaurant’s reservation page. If no restaurant is found, the system automatically searches within a 150 km radius. If no results are found within that range, the customer is informed that no restaurants are available nearby.

Future Plans

The next step is expanding this system by integrating a coupon generation API. New users will receive a discount coupon when they use the WhatsApp bot for the first time, further enhancing engagement and customer retention.
